01 – Smart Sports Mouthguard Project from Australia

An Australian sports technology company was developing a smart mouthguard used for impact detection during rugby and boxing training. The product needed to power a small motion sensor, impact detection circuit, memory chip, and short wireless data transmission function. Because the mouthguard had a curved internal structure, the customer could not use a standard flat battery without increasing the product thickness and reducing wearing comfort.

The customer contacted LithoTop because they needed a miniature curved rechargeable battery that could follow the product’s arc while maintaining stable voltage output during short sensor and wireless transmission events. The product had to be thin, lightweight, and comfortable enough for children and adults to wear during long exhibition visits.

The customer’s early prototype used a small flat lithium battery, but the rigid battery area made the wristband feel uneven and reduced wearing comfort. They needed a curved rechargeable battery that could better match the wristband arc while still supporting stable operation during repeated visitor interactions.
