01 – Smart Healthcare Monitoring Device Project from Germany

A German medical technology company was developing a wearable healthcare monitoring device designed to continuously collect physiological data from patients. The engineering team selected a circular enclosure to improve wearing comfort, which created a significant challenge when choosing a suitable battery.

The customer initially evaluated several standard rectangular lithium polymer batteries, but none could efficiently utilize the available internal space. They contacted Lithotop because of our experience in customized and round lithium polymer battery solutions for wearable electronics.

After reviewing the device structure, operating current profile, charging requirements, and expected product lifespan, Lithotop recommended the 553535 3.7V 580mAh round LiPo battery. Our engineering team determined that the round battery design would maximize available space while maintaining sufficient operating time between charges.

To support the customer’s product launch in European markets, Lithotop also assisted with IEC62133 certification requirements. Sample batteries underwent capacity verification, charging and discharging validation, cycle life evaluation, transportation simulation, and device compatibility testing.

During the prototype stage, several connector and cable routing optimizations were implemented to improve assembly efficiency inside the compact enclosure. After multiple rounds of testing, the customer confirmed that the battery met both runtime and safety expectations.

Before mass production, both parties finalized battery specifications, incoming quality standards, certification documentation, and packaging requirements. The final product successfully entered clinical pilot programs, providing reliable power for continuous patient monitoring. For the customer, this meant faster market entry and reduced certification risks while maintaining a high level of product reliability.

02 – Smart GPS Personal Tracker Project from Canada

A Canadian electronics company was developing a compact personal GPS tracking device intended for children and elderly users. The design team wanted a small circular product appearance that would be comfortable to carry or wear, but battery space was extremely limited.

The customer approached Lithotop after experiencing difficulties with a previous battery supplier whose batteries showed inconsistent capacity performance between production batches. They required a reliable battery partner capable of maintaining stable quality during future volume production.

Lithotop analyzed the product’s standby current, GPS transmission intervals, charging behavior, and enclosure dimensions. Based on these requirements, we recommended the 553535 3.7V 580mAh round lithium polymer battery to maximize energy utilization within the available space.

Several engineering improvements were made during sample development, including optimized wire positioning, connector reinforcement, and battery protection circuit integration. Sample batteries were subjected to capacity testing, cycle life evaluation, standby current simulation, and environmental testing to verify long-term reliability.

To support the customer’s sales plans in Europe, Lithotop provided CE and RoHS documentation as part of the project qualification process. The customer completed device-level compliance verification using the supplied documentation.

Prior to mass production, both teams confirmed samples, inspection criteria, production consistency requirements, and packaging specifications. After launch, the tracking device achieved stable field performance with significantly reduced battery-related service issues. This allowed the customer to scale production confidently while strengthening their reputation for product reliability.
